FAQ's

Which airport do I fly into?
The closest airport is Malaga, which is approximately a 45 minute drive to the apartment.

Do any of the discount airlines fly to Malaga?
Yes, discount airlines including Easy Jet, FlyBe, BMI, My Travel etc fly to Malaga. Links are provided on this web site to access their web pages. Go to “Flights.”

How do I get from the airport to the apartment?
Most of the popular car hire firms operate from Malaga airport. See the “Car Hire” link on this web site to access their details. Alternatively, taxis are available from outside the airport.

How many people will the apartment sleep?
The apartment can sleep up to 6 people with the following configuration; Main bedroom – 1 double bed, second bedroom – has 2 single beds, third bedroom – 2 single beds. There are also 2 bathrooms ( 1 en suite).

On what floor is the apartment?
The Penthouse Apartment is situated on the top level (3rd Floor).

Why do visitors choose Marbella?
Marbella has something for everyone, from the beaches of the Costa del Sol to the traditional Spanish hillside villages. Many visitors are attracted to the numerous golf courses in the area, particularly in the warm winter months.

How can you guarantee that the apartment will be clean and well presented when we arrive?
Our maid service will visit the apartment at the end of each visitor's stay and prior to new visitors arriving. All bed linen and towels will have been freshly prepared prior to your arrival.

Are towels available in the apartment?
A supply of bath and hand towels are available. Visitors are required to supply their own beach towels.

Is there a washing machine in the apartment?
Yes, the apartment is fitted with a washing machine. Additionally the kitchen also has a dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and oven and hob.

How secure is the apartment?
The apartments are enclosed behind electric gates which are code operated. Each apartment is accessed through a locked hall entrance door. This is additionally protected by a video phone entry system. The apartment complex has 24 hour security guard surveillance.

Can I rent the apartment for a number of weeks out of peak season for a reduced price?
Yes, prices will be negotiated for medium term out of season rents.

Is there a Supermarket close to the apartment?
The large shopping complex “La Canada” which is a 5 minute drive from the apartment. There is also an Open Core supermarket close to the apartment.

Are there restaurants nearby?
A number of excellent restaurants are only minutes drive from the apartment. However there are various beach restaurants, should you not wish to stroll along the beautiful sandy beaches of Los Monteros.

Is the apartment air-conditioned?
The apartment has an air-conditioning system. The system also operates via remote control, so you don't even have to get out of your chair to change the temperature.

Is there parking at the apartment?
The apartment has underground parking and also has a plentiful supply of on street parking.

How far is the beach?
The apartment is located on the beach. There are many other beaches to explore along the Costa del Sol coastline.

What is the nightlife like in Marbella?
The nightlife in Marbella is incredible, with a huge choice of alfresco bars, casinos, piano clubs and discos.

What golf courses are available?
There are several Golf Clubs in Marbella, including La Quinta ( 27 holes), Los Naranjos (18), Las Brisas (18) and Aloha (18). You may also want to visit the 1998 Ryder Cup Course of Valderrama. We require a second apartment, are there any more in the same complex available to rent?
Arrangements can be made for the rental of a second apartment. Please contact us for further details.

Do you have a cot available for babies?
Yes, a travel cot, these can be pre-booked. A charge of £30 per week is made for cot, sheet and blanket rental.


How do I pay for the booking?
You will be require to pay 25% of your reservation to confirm your booking, the Balance must be paid prior to your departure.

Will I need to pay a damage deposit for the apartment?
Yes, there is a cash damage deposit which will need to be paid upon arrival at the apartment in Marbella. The amount varies per apartment ranging from 150€ to 500€ see that information on the detail page of the apartment you are choosing.

How do I cancel my reservation?
If the client cancels a fully paid reservation, there is a cancellation charge that will depend on the number of days before the beginning of the rental period. Please note that the 25% reservation deposit is non-refundable:

  • More than 90 days before: 20% of the total amount.
  • 60-89 days before: 30% of the total amount.
  • 30-59 days before: 50% of the total amount.
  • Less than 30 days before: 100% of the total amount.

What happens if I break something?
Please call Friendly Rentals as soon as possible to assess the damage. We will do our best to try and fix or replace the item/s and reach a decision if whether there is any charge incurred.

How will I get the keys to the apartment?
You will be met either at the apartment in Marbella or at the airport  upon your arrival by a member of Marbella Rentals Direct staff who will hand over the keys and also show you around the apartment. Please see our arrival and departures section.

Can I drink the water?
The tap water in Marbella is clean and safe to drink throughout the city. However, some areas have a higher sodium content and may taste bitter to some. We generally recommend to stock up on bottled water for drinking at the local grocery store.

What if I need help or information during my stay?
There will be a member of Marbella Rentals Direct available to answer any of your questions during business hours. 

Will I need an adaptor for using the appliances in the apartment?
For all appliances supplied in the apartments you will not need continental European adaptors. Hairdryers are supplied but to operate other bathroom appliances which you might bring on your travels like electric shavers, curling irons etc., you will need a continental European adaptor.


Is the apartment suitable for children?
Yes. If you are concerned, give me a call or send me an email and I will give you an individual and honest opinion on your requirements.

Is there a telephone?
Sorry but no - if you have a mobile and you want to keep in touch with home bring it with you - all work very well in Spain.

Can the changeover day be varied?
Yes, in the winter months only. Whilst in the summer we have to adhere to the stipulated changeover day, in the winter we can be more flexible to fit in with your travel arrangements.

Is the apartment heated in the winter?
All properties have winter heating, this may either be by calor (butane) gas heaters, oil filled radiators and/or log fires. Logs for fireplaces may be purchased locally at an extra cost (where applicable).

Are pools in commission all year & are they heated?
The pools are maintained and in commission all year round (a few are in use from Easter to the end of October). Some guests do swim in the winter months even though the water does tend to be on the cold side from November through to the end of March. Sometimes pool equipment breaks or needs maintenance. We cannot be held responsible if a pool is not in commission due to circumstances beyond our control though every effort will be made to solve any problem as quickly as possible.  In general the pools are not heated.

Is there a discount for longer lets?
For stays of 4 weeks or longer in the winter you can always ask!

Will I have a local contact?
Yes, you will be provided with the name and local phone number of our representative who you can call if you have any unforeseen problems or if you require advice on anything.
